== Plot ==
[[Egg Dude]] is watching [[Family Guy]] on TV when [[Joe the Stickman]] comes to his house to warn him about the [[Gnome]]. Egg Dude doesn't believe Joe at first, but then sees the Gnome in the sky.

Egg Dude and Joe defeat the Gnome with [[Scott the Woz bombs]], but after watching YouTube Poops on TV, [[Steve]] tells the two that the Gnome is back and he wants to destroy the world "for the evils". They then go to Flex Inc. to see the legendary [[Phil Swift]]. Phil points to a sign stating that the Gnome is on [[Mount Gnome]] and they need three [[Cool Cat Plushies]] to get there.

On Joe the Stickman's plane, Egg Dude realizes that Joe is gone and [[King Harkinian]] is in his place. Egg Dude asks where Joe is, but the King just says nonsense, and the plane then falls, crushing [[Link]]. The King then asks what's for dinner, and Egg Dude and Joe go to the kitchen to make dinner. The King eats the dinner and dies, and Egg Dude and Joe see the first Cool Cat Plushie.

Egg Dude and Joe go to 7-Eleven to find the next plushie, but before they are able to buy it, the [[Super Mario in Real Life Kid]] takes the plushie and buys it. Entering the Super Mario in Real Life kid's house, Egg Dude and Joe enter the basement and find the kid, who flips a lever which releases [[Mario]] and [[Luigi]]. Joe uses a [[Waluigi Launcher]], which launches [[Waluigi]] who says "wah", making Luigi vanish. Mario gets angry and runs toward Joe, only for Joe to punch him and Mario lands on another house and explodes.

Afterwards, the Super Mario in Real Life kid is defeated, and Egg Dude and Joe retrieve the second plushie. Suddenly, the house turns into a rocket, and the two land in space, where they see a castle. They enter the castle and see the [[The Real Gamers|Real Gamers]]; [[Lego Mario]], [[Badly Drawn Characsn]], and [[Duck|The Duck]]. Lego Mario shows the next cool cat plushie, but Badly Drawn Characsn makes the two do a puzzle.

After the puzzle is completed, Egg Dude and Joe the Stickman receive the final plushie, and [[Superman]] arrives to carry the two to Mount Gnome. However, the two are dropped after Superman asks them if they take any drugs and Egg Dude responds with "uhhhhh", which Superman takes as a yes. Landing in front of the mountain, the two see [[Orangehead]] the mountain keeper, who offers to show off his [[Orangehead's Mountain Collection|collection of mountains]]. After showing off his mountains, Orangehead's third [[Mount Wario]] turns into a floating stone Wario head and begins chasing Egg Dude and Joe. Joe blows up the Wario head, making Orangehead kick them out of his "sexy home".

Afterwards, Egg Dude and Joe finally arrive at Mount Gnome, where they redeem their plushies and receive a key to the mountain. At the top is the Gnome, who starts shooting lasers at them. Joe gets hit by a laser, killing him, angering Egg Dude, who calls the Gnome a "stupid Mario brother". After running away from the Gnome, Egg Dude is cornered. Suddenly, [[Rick Astley]] comes out of nowhere, says "say goodbye", and shoots the Gnome, causing him to explode. Joe the Stickman comes back from the dead, and Egg Dude makes an incredibly lame and unfunny "pun".

In an after-credits scene, Orangehead is seen purchasing a new Mount Wario, which inexplicably explodes.

The Channel of Egg: The Animated Television Special was first conceived on November 7, 2020, and the script started being written on the same day. Production on the script sped up after [[Domoforsale]] joined the channel in December 2020. The script was completed on February 15, 2021, and some voice lines were recorded on the same day, though these recordings were scrapped.

Production on the special paused during the spring of 2021, due to the channel's members being busy with other things. Production started back up in June, with the voice lines being recorded and the audio editing being done. Animation began on June 20, and was completed on July 2. The special was officially completed on July 12.

Nothing about the special was shown to the public until January 29, 2021, when the Channel of Egg Twitter account [https://twitter.com/thechannelofegg/status/1355343681478402055 tweeted] a picture of Egg Dude.

The special was officially announced on February 15, 2021 in a [https://twitter.com/thechannelofegg/status/1361491266387775488 tweet] on the Channel of Egg Twitter. Nothing else was mentioned until July 6, 2021, with the release of the video [[coming soon.]]

[[Egg Dude at G4!?!?!?!? (COE Animated Special new info!?!?!?!?)|Two]] [[Joe the Stickman G4 Panel with new TCOE Animated Special News|more]] teasers were posted on July 10 and 13 respectively. A [https://twitter.com/thechannelofegg/status/1416113426275790848 twitter-exclusive trailer] was posted on July 16. The [[The Channel of Egg: The Animated Television Special - Trailer|final trailer]] was posted on July 19, which was the only trailer to have actual footage from the special.

On July 21, 2021, at 5 PM central time, the special premiered.

* There were plans for a [[South Park]] parody intro that played during the Real Gamers scene. Concept art and lyrics were made, but the intro was not made as nobody wanted to record it.
**There were also plans for a Family Guy-themed intro, but nothing was actually made for it.
*There were a few cut lines, including:
**A line during the Orangehead's mountain collection scene which referenced the Lenstar Productions video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AFVQI8PsQA Mario Minestrone]. This was removed after the drama around JacobLenstar that occurred at the time.
**Phil Swift was originally going to say "that's a lot of damage" following the explosion in the Garfield scene. This line was cut less than a month after the script was completed for unknown reasons.
***This line was part of a planned running gag in the special that would have him appear to say "that's a lot of damage" whenever something was destroyed. The running gag was later scrapped due to the channel members likely finding it unfunny and repetitive, and the line was likely removed for this reason.
**The special was originally going to start with Burrito Fish creating Egg Dude.
**While not completely cut, part of one of Joe the Stickman's lines was edited on Mount Gnome. In the Special, he says "Thought of a plan?", but the original audio file for this line has him saying "Uh oh, have we thought of a plan?".
*Some lines were slightly modified after the script's completion. These include:
**Egg Dude's line "we shall use a gun" was originally "we shall use egg bombs".
**Near the end of the special, Egg Dude originally said "you sons of a bitches" instead of "you stupid mario brother". This was changed to the current line as [[Keapy]] felt that swearing was out of character for Egg Dude.
***Similarly, in the plane scene, Egg Dude originally said "who the hell are you" rather than "who the crap are you". This was changed to the current line for the same reason.
**The King's line "oh shit" originally said "oh crap".
*A character called Blue Lightning McQueen, based on the Lightning McQueen figure seen in [[Lightning_McQueen.mp4]] was originally planned to appear in the special and was going to be voiced by Domoforsale, but he was cut due to him never being used in the script.
*Two draft versions were made in June and July 2021. These can be seen on [[Eggstras]].

* The scene with the CRT TVs was done by burning two DVDs containing two animations of Egg Dude and playing them on two identical DVD players.
* On January 29, 2026, LunarLemon added Closed Captions to the video that were manually created.

*The house that the Super Mario in Real Life kid enters was a real house. The address was 19939 Dresden St, Detroit, MI 48205.
** Keapy found this house by looking around in Google Maps.
**According to Google street view imagery, the house was demolished sometime between 2013 and 2018.
* This is the first Channel of Egg video to be worked on by more than one person.
*This video has the longest production time out of any other Channel of Egg video, with a production time of 8 months and 5 days.
*This is the first Channel of Egg video to have [[LunarLemon]] appear in live action.
*LunarLemon intended on dubbing the special in Spanish. This was announced on November 14, 2021, and it was intended to be released the following Winter. On January 14, 2022, it was delayed indefinitely, and was later canceled.
